Weavers Walk - a delightful find

Robbi was in the shop on saturday and we had offerred some fabric scraps to a lady on freecycle to come and collect. We are keen Freecyclers here at OurGreenRoom.

She came to the shop, at No.5 Weavers Walk just tucked behind Who Cares and couldnt believe what she had just found; "Do you know I have lived here for 30 years and I did not know this alleyway of lovely shops was here!"

We know the shop is a little tucked away but what a delight to miss! Not only is there OurGreenRoom seeling our lovely range of modern furnishings, but there is also The Sangha Room; a magical shop and buddhist centre crammed full of the most wonderful eastern furniture and gifts, not to mention the actual 'Buddah Rooms' which people are welcome to use on a drop-in basis to simply 'sit' and be at peace. they also have a busy schedule of buddhism realted talks, seminars, groups and workshops - it would be worth checking out the shop window for information on upcoming events, or visiting the site here.

Then, there is the Cottage Co-operative Cafe, speciasing in vegetarian, fairtrade and organic food. Along with the fact that the cafe also runs as a coopertaive, meaning that all the workers own an equal share of the business, makes it an even more special place to visit and support. Plus I'm told by Robbi that the tea and cakes are lovely.

The two shops, including us and the cafe, along with Bishopstown Trading (Fairtrade Clothing) and Who Cares form the complex Weavers Walk. There are two entrances, one down the side of the Scribbling Horse cafe and the other through Who Cares and Bishopstown Trading, both on Silver Street - one of the two main shopping streets in Bradford on Avon. If you havent visited Bradford on Avon before or have lived here for 30 years and have never seen it, both reasons will warrant a visit - even just to walk through as it's so very pretty. I remember the first time I stumbled across the little walkway, I was absolutely delighted with my new little find - who would have thought a few years later we would be occupying a retail space there on a Friday.
